The Story of Matcha Tea

Building on that advantage, over many years Tam Duong Tea Investment and Development Joint Stock Company has proactively built a closed-loop production chain into a sustainable system. In terms of raw-material area, the company has more than 1,000 hectares of high-quality clean tea concentrated in the communes of Ban Bo, Muong Khoa, Na Tam and Phuc Khoa, with 2,000 households taking part. Thanks to the dedication put into production, with every stage from growing, tending, harvesting, processing, packaging to storage being strictly and scientifically controlled, each tea product carries a barcode, offers traceability of origin and guarantees its quality. In 2017 the company was granted the certificate of the right to use the "Tam Duong Tea" trademark by the Tam Duong District People's Committee. In 2019 the company achieved the ISO 22000:2005 quality management certification. The company is also the first unit to be certified for organic tea area with 28.6ha, certified under Rainforest Alliance sustainable agriculture with an area of 171ha, and certified VietGAP for 40ha of tea.

Tam Duong Tea Investment and Development Joint Stock Company also applies advanced tea-production models and has invested in modern production lines from Japan and Taiwan, thereby creating distinctive products, among which the standout is Matcha tea. Matcha tea comes in the form of a finely ground tea powder, processed from the young leaves of Kim Tuyen tea. Matcha tea is dubbed the queen of teas, with a nutritional content ten times higher than ordinary teas. Matcha tea is a premium tea used in tea ceremonies, famous among historical figures and Japanese Zen masters. In addition, Matcha is also used in processing other premium products, especially for cell regeneration and skin beautification. For this reason the company invested in research and successfully produced Vietnam's first Matcha tea, manufactured according to the strict and rigorous standards of Japan.

To this day the product Matcha tea, together with the other products of Tam Duong Tea Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, has been trusted by customers and highly rated for its quality and food safety. The company has been and continues to provide work for nearly 2,000 highland ethnic households through tea growing; the income of these communities has risen, with many families earning from 60-120 million VND per year. This success comes precisely from determination, from a fierce aspiration to reach out to the world, and from the wish to blend traditional identity with modernity in order to create the highest-quality products under the common banner of the "Tam Duong Tea" brand.
